Irene Gerosa
Irene Gerosa obtained her Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at University of Milan in Italy where she worked on the design and development of lipid nanocarriers as both drug and gene delivery systems. In her PhD work she studies structure-function relationships of chromatin subcompartments involved in regulation of RNA polymerase II transcription in mammalian cells. She is investigating the interplay of (long-range) chromatin interactions and the potential role of transcription factor assembly via liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) in forming transcription hubs that establish specific patterns of gene co-regulation.
